Nikelle is a filmmaker, poet, and educator who was raised in the American south.

As a filmmaker, her approach can best be described as portraiture, exploring themes of identity, intimacy, and interiority. Her poetry often explores Black womanhood in relation to Southern landscapes, collective memory, and mythology.

Nikelle earned an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University & a BA in Dramatic Writing & Film Production from The New School.

She currently splits her time between Mexico City & New York.
